    LT tires have a higher load rating than passenger tires…they are designed for heavier trucks and vans and those doing alot of hauling so the tires dont wear prematurely or fail.

    the p series tires should be fine for an off road jeep if your on a budget

    lt stands for light truck..an suv or anything up to a rig uses lts
    as far as will they work..yes however the load rating will be substantually lower so u could end up like a ford exploder or u could be fine..i wouldnt use car tires but i do do alot of stupid stuff so i might in a pinch someday..lol

    no it would not fit because the size is way different

    LT tires are usually stiffer than a P-rated tire. They offer better resistance to punctures because of their construction. And they are the exact same size. 235/75R16 is the same no matter what letter designations come before it. It is still 235 millimeters wide with a 70% aspect ratio of the sidewall and fits on a 16″ rim.

    LT has a stiffer sidewall. Rougher ride, but stronger.

    LT= Light truck..Can take more payload than passenger type tyres.
    P= Passenger..Standard car tyres.
    235= The width across the tyre in mm.
    75= The side wall hieght in mm.
    R16= Rim size to fit in inches

    Load carrying capacity. Each will carry different loads at different inflation pressures. The Passenger Metric tire will carry its maximum load at 35 psi and maximum inflation pressure is usually 44 psi (though sometimes only 35 psi).

    The Light Truck Metric tire will carry its maximum load at a higher inflation pressure and have higher maximum inflation pressures. A Load Range C tire for example with have a Max Load and Max Pressure of 50 psi, a Load Range D will be at 65 psi and a Load Range E at 80 psi.

    On a Jeep being used seriously off-road I would recommend using an LT Metric tire in a C load range due to its more heavy-duty casing construction.
